First Responders Responding to OCCC

For the second time in as many years, OCCC is hosting area first responders for a “Get to Know Your First Responder Day” on Wednesday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“This is an opportunity for the College to pay tribute to those who serve our community,” said OCCC Director of Safety and Security Ike Sloas.

Members from several area law enforcement agencies as well as ambulance and fire crews will showcase the various resources they use to provide safety services including bomb disposal, disaster command posts, motorcycles, trucks and even helicopters.

OCCC employees who attend can receive credit for health and safety training.

Red Cross Donations for Fire Victims

In response to yesterday’s widespread fires, Student Life is collecting donations to assist Oklahoma fire victims.  All donations will be given to the American Red Cross.  Monetary donations may be placed in the water jugs located at the College Union, Bookstore, Coffee Shop and Student Life.  You may also donate non-perishable food, toiletries and clothing in the Student Life office.  Please contact the Office of Student Life if you have any questions about the American Red Cross donations.  Thank you for your support.
